New Publication: Measuring Quality of Life Beyond Physical Disability

Dear friendos,

I am pleased to share our latest research publication in JPO: Journal of Prosthetics and Orthotics, where I had the opportunity to serve as the corresponding author.

Our study, “Performance of the Albanian SF-36v2 as a Measure of Health-related Quality of Life in Patients with Lower Limb Amputation in Kosovo,” examined the performance of the Albanian-language SF-36v2 questionnaire in assessing health-related quality of life among 150 individuals living with lower limb amputation in Kosovo.

Beyond physical functioning and mobility, our findings highlight the importance of understanding the psychological, emotional, and social dimensions of life after amputation.

This research contributes to strengthening patient-reported outcome measurement in Kosovo, where locally relevant evidence is essential for improving rehabilitation services, informing clinical practice, and supporting patient-centered healthcare.

I am grateful to my co-authors for their collaboration and to all participants who contributed to this research.

Better rehabilitation begins with understanding not only how patients function, but also how they live.
